Shelley Kishpaugh
Shelley Kishpaugh is a self-taught artist with a deep appreciation for the intersection of psychology, art, and environmentalism. Holding a degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado, she spent much of her adult life in Boulder, Colorado, where her fascination with the human mind and her love for children and nature deeply influenced her artistic practice.
Shelley's work reflects an experimental and playful approach, heavily influenced by her commitment to ecological awareness. She champions a "reduce, reuse, recycle" ethos, transforming discarded materials destined for landfills into unique and thought-provoking artworks. With an insatiable curiosity and an experimental spirit, she constantly explores new and unexpected uses for everyday objects.
Shelley's artistic process is characterized by the delights of the unexpected combinations and juxtapositions of diverse materials. This experimental spirit extends beyond her own practice, as she also enjoys sharing her passion for art with others, teaching a variety of techniques and materials to both children and adults. Through her art, Shelley strives to bring forth beauty, peace, and joy from the discarded, offering a counterpoint to the sometimes chaotic world around us.
Since relocating to Sarasota, Florida in 2010, Shelley continues to create and evolve as a lifelong artist.
Isabel Kishpaugh
Isabel Kishpaugh is a local artist based in Sarasota, Florida, whose artistic journey spans approximately 20 years. Her work embraces a diverse range of mediums, including graphite drawings, sculpture, and mixed media, with a particular passion for acrylic on canvas.
While largely self-taught, Isabel's artistic development has been deeply enriched by a family of talented artists, with her mother serving as a significant influence and source of inspiration. This nurturing environment has fostered a lifelong love of art and a dedication to exploring various creative avenues. Though her formal art education is limited to art analysis courses, Isabel's commitment to independent learning and experimentation has shaped her unique artistic voice.
For two decades, art has been a cherished recreational pursuit. Now, Isabel is driven by the aspiration to share her creations with a wider audience. Her current goal is to transition from a recreational artist to a professional, with the hope of selling her work and proving to herself the tangible impact of her artistic vision.
